This remote training session gives you a reminder of how to prepare for and complete the termly census return and any changes present in the current School Census.
This course is not suitable for delegates from an independent school.
Delegates are taken through the preliminary preparation for the census return, including the procedure for creating a return and correcting any outstanding validation errors. The course also explores the changes to the data requirements of the current return together with requirements for other returns.

This course provides delegates with an understanding of the data collected by the School Workforce Census and explores how SIMS can be configured to provide the data and how to produce the return itself and resolve data issues.

The course will look at the data which will be collected by the school workforce annual census, how schools’ SIMS systems can be configured to provide SWAC data, producing the return itself, resolving data issues and exploring questions around school and LA responsibility for providing SWAC data.
This short course provides an overview of System Manager. It covers creating new users, altering permissions and assigning passwords. You will be made aware of data security and the responsibilities you have relating to sensitive data and learn the skills needed to manage users of a SIMS system.
This course covers important housekeeping and time-saving processes that may not be carried out every day but that result in more accurate data. It also covers a range of additional tasks related to GDPR, communication with the pupil’s home and helping other users to get more from SIMS.
To ensure the quality and integrity of assessment and exams data in your SIMS Database we recommend using the various housekeeping processes as part of regular tasks in SIMS and this course outlines those good practices.
